Spring in Noordhoek
Finally, after an aweful period or heavy storms, hail, rains and icy temperatures, spring has arrived in Noordhoek, South Africa!
Spring in Noordhoek
Nature is perfect: punctually, with the first day of spring in Noordhoek, Mr. and Mrs. Egyptian Goose proudly presented three tiny little goslings at my studio door this morning. Although very shy as they are hunted down in many areas, they seem to have understood that they are well protected and loved in this space. Within hours I was accepted as the crazy photographer going on my knees before those adorable little goslings to get a closeup from a different perspective and allowing the highly vigilant and currently very nervous parents to fly off for a few stolen moments to get some much needed food on the pastures. Normally, there are 8 to 12 chicks – but here we only have 3. I am not too sure what the feline stranger I spotted on several occasions had in mind when sneaking around the dam with a close eye on the island and the lawn where moles had created havoc over the past few weeks?
Be it as may… this little family is pure BLISS to watch and it’s time for digital photography!
